Not much of a sail

June 3, 2007December 11, 2007

Position: 28.2074°N 80.6601°W     Palm Shores Florida

Log: 95

Today we left Vero at 930 into strong headwinds all day, after checking all vital engine components and discovered that the engine oil level was a little to high. This made for poor sailing especially since it was Sunday traffic and narrow channel. When the winds turned westward in the afternoon it was quite gusty. At one point it gusted from a steady 5 to 20kts. The jib is old and cumbersome and will need replacement soon (Travis!!!!!!!!!). Arriving in the Palm Shores area Matthias discovered with fright that he failed to load the appropriate charts onto the chart plotter. So we decided to anchor at 1830 in the protection of a causeway.
